SciKit acts as a first aid kit containing main topics for a specific science field. This app is a great asset as portable references for students, professors, researchers, and can also be helpful for kids who are interested in sciences in their early ages.
SciKit Chem101 aims to provide simple knowledge of Chemistry that deals with the beginning level of General Chemistry (i.e. freshman year) in College. However, this app is intended for everyone interested in Chemistry, and need a refresher course, or can be used just as a reference.
The 3 topics can be accessed by pressisng 5 buttons:
- The Elements of periodic table is organized into 3 different arrangements (3 green buttons): alphabetic order (a, b, c...), numerical order (1, 2, 3...), and physical states order (solid, liquid, gas, and artificial).
- A list of chemical names for simple acids and bases demonstrates the ratio of mole(s) in cation to mole(s) in anion. A reference of simple scale of pH meter is shown.
- The combustion reactions present the burning of fossil fuels that contain compounds of carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur; hence, produce many unwanted and harmful by-products. The chemical equations exhibit the coefficients in front of the compounds to balance the reaction. Total amounts of atoms participating as reactants are the same quantity of atoms as products in the reaction. The balance of chemical reaction obeys the Law of Conservation of Matter. Reduction-oxidation reactions (i.e., redox reaction) are also depicted in the details.
With the help of SciKit Chem101, chemistry should be easier to handle for different uses.
